ALL glass edges, Seen ansd Unseen, are polished - reducing the chance of breakage and fracture and imncreasing safety ratings.
The polishing of all the glass edges increases the tanks safety rating since rough/unpolished glass edges offer an increased chance of breakage and fracture.
This High quality, highly polished edge is available on many of our aquariums at an additional cost, and on the Braceless Range as standard (available at point of order.) Cerium Polishing is the most beautiful edging that you will see.
Glass is supplied to within a 3mm tolerance.

Double Glass Base
When an aquarium reaches a particular height or length then it is usual to make the base glass to the aquarium thicker. Whilst our bases are already floating the double base adds the extra safety, all whilst maintaining high aesthetic standard.
If you want the Black Base option, Aquariums4Life now offer PinSeal (ABS) bases to the interior of your tank. Pinseal allows rocks to be directly placed on the substrate of your aquarium.
What is a Floating Base?
A floating base means that you will never have glass to glass contact along the joints of your aquarium. Where many aquarium companies will build the tanks with the front and side panes balanced on the base glass, Aquariums4Life have the base glass situated inside of the front and side panes. This means we are ensuring a 1.5-2mm cushion of silicone between your glass. This allows some movement, but more importantly makes your tank safer still.
The following video shows the difference between standard tank assembly and the technique adopted by Aquariums4Life. You can clearly see that the aquarium not assembled by Aquariums4Life has very minimal silicone, in some places next to no silicone is bonding the glass, because the weight of the glass has simply pushed all the silicone out from the joint. Imagine these types of construction with unpolished glass as is the case of some aquarium manufacturers!
